Bitcoin miners sometimes produce blocks which causes one of the blocks to be orphaned. In this we we explain that process. Miners produce blocks as fast as they can and therefore it's natural that sometimes two blocks will be produced at the same time.

Orphan blocks are sometimes called stale blocks.
