Donald Trump: 'We won't be defunding our police'
President Donald Trump insisted Monday the United States "won't be dismantling our police."
"We won't be disbanding our police. We won't be ending our police force in a city," Trump said at the White House during a meeting with law enforcement leaders.
He made the comments as Democrats proposed a far-reaching overhaul of police procedures and accountability Monday, a sweeping legislative response to the mass protests denouncing the deaths of black Americans in the hands of law enforcement.
